If you like running, and supporting a great cause, get your race shoes ready! On Saturday, September 9, Humane Ohio will host their first Tails on the Trails Walk and 5k Run. The event will take place at Side Cut Metropark (1025 W. River Rd. Maumee, OH) with the race kicking off at 8:30am followed by the walk at 9:30am.
This dog friendly event will include games, a vendor village and entertainment. All funds raised at Tails on the Trails will go toward keeping spay/neuter services affordable in the Northwest Ohio region and helping keep pets in their homes. Racers will pay a $25 registration fee, while walkers can sign up for free and are encouraged to fundraise. Fundraising prizes will be awarded to those who raise funds, ranging in amounts of $50-$1,000+. The fundraising prizes include tee shirts, bumper stickers and fleece jackets. The top fundraiser, raising $1,000 or more will get six months of pet food for free. All runners will receive a tee shirt and drawstring backpack filled with dog treats and other items.
Humane Ohio’s Development and Marketing Coordinator, Renee Murry, says “This event is going to be one you won’t want to miss! It’s a great opportunity to raise funds while talking a stroll with your furry friend. Fundraisers help us keep our prices low for the community so we can ensure every pet guardian is able to afford to fix their cats and dogs. We’re excited to host this year’s walk and are looking forward to making it bigger and better in years to come!”
